Nintendo Switch Lite was released on september 20, 2019 by Nintendo, a Japanese multinational consumer electronics and video game company headquartered in Kyoto which was founded in 1889 by craftsman Fusajiro Yamauchi.

The Nintendo Switch LIte is a handheld game console which plays most of the same games as the standard Nintendo Switch and comes in five colors. It is a single, handheld-only unit that uses a smaller 5.5 in (14 cm) screen and is generally limited to games that can be played in handheld mode.

The Nintendo Switch Lite had sold about 1.95 million units worldwide by September 30, 2019, only 10 days after its launch and as of 30 June 2020, it had sold 8.84 million units worldwide.

In a review, The Verge rated the Nintendo Switch Lite 8 out of 10 points, mentioning its improved battery life over the standard Nintendo Switch as well as the design and the “excellent directional pad”.
