Mojang Studios was founded by Markus Persson in 2009 as Mojang Specifications and it is based in Stockholm.

Mojang is a Swedish video game developer and a studio of Xbox Game Studios which releases and supports its games on multiple platforms, including iOS, Playstation, as well as Windows and Xbox.

The company developed the sandbox game, Minecraft which became the best-selling video game of all time and established a successful multimedia franchise.

Mojang Studios has developed Caller’s Bane, a digital collectible card game, Crown and Council, a turn-based strategy game, and the spin-off games Minecraft Earth and Minecraft Dungeons. It also released various smaller games as part of game jams organised by Humble Bundle and published the externally developed Cobalt and Cobalt WASD.
